GREEN FLAG: 44 didn't get going, caution for big wreck in turn opne

Casola is back under his own power; one to go when they get to the line

1 Casola is stopped on the frontstretch, we'll probably go extra pace laps

The field is rolling, 29 strong, and we'll go green the third time by

Engines have been fired

Looks like a good crowd tonight, most seats are full save for the bottom five rows

We've prayed and we've sang; the firing of engines is imminent and we'll be racing in less than ten minutes

6:40 p.m. - Brett Moffitt made a good first impression on the NASCAR Camping World East Series when he set fast time in this evening's time trials at Greenville-Pickens Speedway. Moffitt, now the second-youngest Greenville polewinner, was the last driver to take time and used that opportunity to knock Brian Ickler off the top spot. Eddie MacDonald timed in third, followed by Steve Park and Ryan Truex. Full results are Here. We've got a story to chase as John Salemi never got up to speed on his attempt, meanwhile the field is forming on the frontstretch for an on-track autograph session. The race will go green at 8:00 tonight and we'll have live lap-by-lap coverage in this space.

5:50 p.m. - Never mind, all cars get two laps of qualifying. Martin Truex Jr is in attendance so there's no shortage of star power. Nine minutes till coverage starts.

5:50 p.m. - Word comes that there will be more than one car getting dinged qualifying laps after being late to tech. Scanning the infield from the mohagany-lined pressbox, we see one of the street stocks in attendance has been built out of a Chevy Malibu station wagon. Awesome.

5:41 p.m. - We're less than 20 minutes away from qualifying here at Greenville-Pickens Speedway. All cars are through tech with the exception of Matt Kurzejewski's, which has been fighting transmission problems all day. The crew is still working hard so he might get to qualify. Ryan Truex's 2009 season is getting off to a bit of a rocky start as his car was late to tech and he'll only have one lap of time trials. Meanwhile, we see Ken Spring chatting up the ladies in the infield while flagman Warren Johnston is endearing himself to young fans by handing out checkered flags at the flagstand.

3:48 p.m. - The qualifying order for the 6:00 time trial session: 12 88 40 72 23 30 50 39 03 35 10 00 37 94 15 16 4 1 11 26 18 38 71 52 58 7 63 17 44. We'll have qualifying live in this space so check back in a couple hours to see how the rookies stack up to the veterans when they go up against the clock.

3:28 p.m. - Brian Ickler flexed his muscles in the one and only practice session held this afternoon for tonight's NASCAR Home Tracks 150 Presented by Kevin Whittaker Chevrolet. Ickler's Chevy posted a fast lap of 21.244 seconds (84.730 MPH) around the Greenville half-mile. Joe Gibbs Racing rookie Matt Dibenedetto was second fastest, followed by Matt Kobyluck, Brett Moffitt (Andy Santerre Motorsports), and Patrick Long (Dave Davis Motorsports). We now await qualifying, which will take place at 6:00 this evening. After that is an on-track autograph session and then the season-opening East Series race at 8:00.

The weather was pretty scary last night but that's out of the way and we're bathed in warm sunshine at the half-mile Greenville-Pickens Speedway. We've been welcomed by 29 cars in the pit area with a couple of familiar names and a lot of question marks. We'll try and piece it all together throughout the day all the way through lap-by-lap coverage of the NASCAR Home Tracks 150 starting at 8:00 tonight.
