Adirondack International Speedway Raceday Updates

NOTE: This is what we posted throughout the day on the front page of EastSeries.com throughout the Adirondack International Speedway race day. If you were at the track or not able to get to the site over the course of the weekend, this will give you some idea of how the event progressed from our first arrival on the grounds Saturday morning until we packed up to leave Saturday evening. This is probably best read from the bottom up.

One to go next time by

Cars are rolling, 30 MPH pit road speed

Engines have been fired

One minute

Four minutes to the command

We are mere moments away from the firing of engines

Driver introductions are going on as we speak

4:52 p.m. - Bryon Chew won his second East Series pole position when he posted a fast lap of 16.496 seconds (109.296 MPH) here at Adirondack International Speedway. Austin Dillon timed in second, followed by Trevor Bayne, Peyton Sellers, and Jeffrey Earnhardt. Full results are Here. Enjoy a light snack and come back for race coverage here, starting somewhere around 6:30 p.m.

4:10 p.m. - The track is dry, some sort of little cars are practicing at speed, or something like it, and Camping World Series will be happening Real Soon Now. Stay tuned. Qualifying order: 03 88 71 44 63 18 16 99 7 52 1 15 39 2 26 30 11 35 21 8 40 4 3 65 41

3:30 p.m. - We appear to be out of the rain business here in Lowville and there are a handful of safety and other vehicles (not to imply that they are not safe) on track to dry it. They're making good progress so we have no reason to believe that qualifying will not go off at or near 4:15 this aftefnoon.

2:20 p.m. - Practice times have been posted Here. Rain continues to fall so stay tuned for updates on qualifying or the lack of such.

2:20 p.m. - Practice has evded here at Adirondack International Speedway and in a matter of good timing, just as the session ended, rain showed up. On the plus side, practice was incident free with more than a couple drivers calling it quits early, plenty happy with their rides. Rain may already be over, we shall see. Practice times will be posted when they are made available. It was nice to see Lee Roy paying us a visit, puttering in driving a cherry 1954 Porsche 356 roadster.

10:28 a.m. - The entry list has been posted Here. 25 cars for 30 spots so everyone's in, including newbie Levi Arthur and part-timers Scott Bouley, James Pritchard Jr., and John Salemi. I misspoke about the drivers meeting, that was the rookie meeting at 10 but the other driver meeting, for everyone, is at 11.

9:52 a.m. - It took some doing but we're now safely on the grounds of the half-mile circle in the middle of nowhere. We've set up in familiar surroundings, the friendly confines of the Anton Racing toterhome and we're ready to bring you the news and notes from Adirondack International Speedway. We're down people with photog Kate not making the trip but we'll do the best we can. The drivers meeting starts in a few minutes but our first order of business is to get an entry list and punch that in so you know who's who.
