Delaney Ready To Kick Off The 2009 Season
“Greenville is one of the better tracks we run on from my perspective,” said the driver of the #39 Delaney Infrastructure Chevrolet. “I feel more comfortable there than I do on a lot of the other tracks. It has a uniqueness that I can’t even describe. I can’t wait to go back. Last year, we finished in the top-20 and we were just starting out – it was my rookie year. I have a lot more seat time behind me now so I’m pretty confident heading into this year’s race.” That confidence will be important. With an abbreviated 11-race schedule in the 2009 season, each race will count more than ever. There’s no room for mistakes or bad luck – not if you want to win a championship. “Our goal is to be consistently in the top-10,” said Delaney. “If you have one or two bad races there’s not a lot of time to make it up. I wish the season could be longer, but we have to work with what we got and that means preparation will be key this year.” Delaney Motorsports, based out of Mayfield, N.Y., heads into this season opener more geared up than ever. The team will test at both Caraway and Hickory Motor Speedway’s prior to the season opener and veteran crew chief and three-time series champion, Jamie Aube, has been busy all winter long making sure the cars are solid. “We’re definitely ready to go. The only thing we have left to do is get behind the wheel, which we plan to do on April 6th when we take the cars down to test. We’ll shake them down and make sure we have all the bugs out so when we get to Greenville we only have to concentrate on winning.” Delaney will run the #39 Delaney Infrastructure Chevrolet in the Camping World Series East for the full schedule in addition to an ARCA RE/MAX Series schedule that includes stops at Kentucky, Chicago, and Kansas.
