Fadden Racing Ready For Assault On 2009 CWSE Season

North Haverhill, N.H. (April 6, 2009): With a new driver behind the wheel and a strong determination, Fadden Racing is ready to kick off the 2009 NASCAR Camping World Series East season at Greenville-Pickens Speedway April 11th. Jonathan Smith, a Beacon Falls, Conn. native, has taken over the helm of the familiar #16 Chevrolet’s and team owner Mike Olsen is ready to guide the 22-year-old driver to his most successful season yet.

Smith entered the series in 2007 season and is part of the Drive for Diversity program. His rookie season showed much promise, but the sophomore jinx fell upon him and engine failures dominated much of his 2008 season. Smith was excited to join Fadden Racing and two-time Champion Mike Olsen over the winter and feels confident that they can be a contender in the points this season.

“My goals are to be consistent each week and run for the championship. I’ve learned how to drive a pretty good car and I’ve learned how to drive an ill-handling car so going into this season, with championship-caliber equipment from Fadden Racing, I think we really have a shot to be there in the points. I really feel like we’re going to have a good year.”

Although the NASCAR Home Tracks 150 presented by Kevin Whitaker Chevrolet will be the team’s first official outing together, Smith has been plenty busy developing a chemistry with crew chief Harry Norcross. The team recently tested at Stafford Motor Speedway where team owner Mike Olsen hoped to not only shake the cars down, but get Smith acclimated to the team and the equipment.

“I feel really comfortable in the cars and I work really well with Harry. There were no hiccups in the tests and everything has gone really smooth. When everybody gets along as well as we did, it makes this sport that much more fun.”

CProducts, a Vietnam Veteran owned, USA company, manufacturing magazines for M16, M4 and AR weapons, has come on board as sponsor of the #16 Chevrolet for the season opening race. They are the single largest manufacturer of different caliber magazines for the AR platform in the world.

“CProducts has a passion for auto racing and wanted to test the waters for this year to see how involved in the sponsorship aspect they would like to be,” explained Smith. “We’re very happy that they decided to come on board. Their involvement is good for the series, and in return, this team and the series will be good for CProducts.”

The NASCAR Home Tracks 150 takes the green flag this Saturday, April 11th at Greenville-Pickens Speedway at 8 p.m. Qualifying will be held at 5 p.m.
