Stancill Finishes 4th At Greenville Pickens
"We practice here last week and the track was a lot hotter then. So today, we were a little tight in practice." Stancill said of his efforts in the one and only practice allowed on race day. Due to rain early in the day, the competitors were only allowed one short practice. Stancill showed up 16th quickest during practice. "My crew chief Mark Huff and the guys loosened up the car for qualifying and it was a lot better." said Stancill after picking up over half a second for his qualifying time. During the race, Stancill fell as far back as 11th but patiently worked his way up into the top five. Stancill held his own during the numerous double file restarts and negotiated through lapped traffic like a seasoned veteran. "The experience I gained last year in the Hooters Pro Cup was a big help. I was trying to save my tires as much as possible. Huff loosened the car for qualifying and then we were real loose during the race. I knew I didn't have anything for Sellers, Dillon, or Davis at the end. I'm very happy to bring my #91 BSW Construction-Stancill Farms Chevy home in 4th place and in one piece!" an excited Stancill said after the race. Due to budget restrictions, Ben Stancill plans to run only 6 or 7 races this year in the Camping World East Series. Stancill said, "I am thankful to have the opportunity to run a few races this year. Car owner Butch Warrington and my parents are my only sponsors right now, so it's impossible for us to make all the races; but I hope to be competitive at the races that I can attend."
